An Azure machine learning service for building and deploying models.
Hello @Nick-2358
Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A forum.
For Data Zone Standard, Microsoft processes prompts and responses within the specified data zone. For the European Union Data Zone, processing can occur within any EU member nation and is not restricted to the individual Azure resource region. Region availability for Foundry Models sold by Azure.
Regarding GPT-5.4, the current Microsoft documentation lists GPT-5.4 (version 2026-03-05) as supporting Data Zone Standard across multiple European regions, including France Central, Germany West Central, Italy North, Norway East, Poland Central, Spain Central, Sweden Central, Switzerland North, and West Europe. However, this availability information does not indicate that a requested 100 kTPM capacity is currently available for a specific subscription. Region availability for Foundry Models sold by Azure.
For Azure Content Understanding, GPT-5.4 is currently included in the supported generative-model list. Other supported completion models include GPT-5.5, GPT-5.4-mini, GPT-5.2, GPT-5.1, GPT-5, GPT-5-mini, and GPT-5-nano, among others. Service quotas and limits - Content Understanding - Foundry Tools.
Since supported models can vary by analyzer, you can verify the models supported by the specific analyzer using:
GET /contentunderstanding/analyzers/{analyzerId}?api-version=2025-11-01
The response includes the supportedModels property with the completion and embedding models supported by that analyzer. Model deployment options for Content Understanding analyzers
Therefore, if retaining EU Data Zone Standard is required, I recommend:
- Check Region availability for Foundry Models sold by Azure for regions where GPT-5.4 supports Data Zone Standard.
- If the required GPT-5.4 capacity isn't available for your subscription, check the analyzer's
supportedModelsand consider another supported model that also supports EU Data Zone Standard. - If GPT-5.4 specifically is required, the documented region-availability table can identify eligible Data Zone Standard regions, but it does not provide real-time capacity availability for the requested 100 kTPM.
