Hi Robert,
The current prebuilt Receipt model does not have a CardSurcharge field. Its supported fields include Total, Subtotal, Tax, Tip, and line items. Microsoft defines Total as the full transaction total.
For your example, the expected extraction is:
Subtotal = 13.00
Card Surcharge = 0.31
Total = 13.31
The OCR text clearly contains both Card Surcharge $0.31 and Total $13.31, so returning 13.00 as Total is a model extraction error rather than an intended surcharge limitation.
There is no configuration in the prebuilt Receipt model to add custom fields. For this type of receipt, the practical solution is to use a custom extraction model and define fields such as:
Subtotal
CardSurcharge
Total
Microsoft allows custom models to define your own extraction schema and field types.
If you continue using the prebuilt model, you will need to use the extracted OCR/content to handle Card Surcharge separately and validate that Total is consistent with the amount actually paid.
