    Hi Roelien Roberts,

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having issue with Nero CD Ripper software, especially after purchasing the 1 year subscription. That said, I need to note that this is a third-party application developed and supported by Nero AG, not Microsoft.

If this involves its subscription or internal troubleshooting tools, the developer is in the best position to investigate and determine whether there is a licensing or software issue. Please contact Nero Support and provide as much detail as possible:

    • The exact error message (and screenshot if available)
    • The CD type and model of your disc drive.

Disclaimer: This is a non-Microsoft website. Watch out for ads on the site, and thoroughly research any product advertised before you decide to download it. Microsoft makes no guarantees, implied or otherwise, about the information you receive from the third-party linked sites or any support related to technology.

Overall, troubleshooting an application's functionality itself should be handled by its manufacturer. However, since the software is being used on a Windows PC, there are a few things still worth checking that you can try below:

1 - Verify the CD can be read by Windows

    • Open File Explorer > select your CD/DVD drive.
    • Confirm that the audio CD is detected correctly.
    • If not, try another CD to rule out disc/drive issue.

2 - Run Nero with elevated permissions

    • Close Nero completely > right-click the Nero CD Ripper shortcut.
    • Select Run as administrator > Try ripping the track again.

3 - Check whether all tracks fail

    • Try ripping a different track from the same CD.
    • If possible, test with a different audio CD.

Just wondering, have you already tried ripping multiple CDs or multiple tracks, and do they all produce the same error message? If possible, can you share the screenshot of the error message?
