Hi Team, I was a Microsoft employee back to 2026-09-11 and got some certifications last year under Microsoft account. Can you help to migrate these certifications from my previous Microsoft account into my current personal account? Thanks!

If the former Microsoft work account still permits sign-in, add it to your personal Microsoft Learn profile to trigger a profile merge that brings the certifications into the personal profile.

    Merge the profiles

    1. Sign in to Microsoft Learn using your personal Microsoft account.
    2. Select your profile icon in the upper-right corner, then Settings.
    3. Under Account Management, select Add login account.
    4. Sign in with the former Microsoft work account that holds the certifications.
    5. Because that account belongs to another Learn profile, Microsoft Learn should prompt you to merge the profiles.
    6. Complete the merge, then sign out.
    7. Open a private browser window and sign in using only the personal account.
    8. Open Profile → Credentials → Certifications and verify that the certifications appear.

A profile merge combines the learning progress, credentials, and transcripts from both profiles. The merge cannot be undone, so confirm that these are the correct two profiles before accepting it.^1^

Only one of the profiles may contain a personal Microsoft login account. Microsoft Learn permits one personal account and up to five work or school login accounts on a profile.^2^

If the former work account is no longer accessible

The self-service merge requires authentication to that former account. If it was disabled when employment ended and no alternate login was previously attached to that Learn profile, Microsoft cannot recover the organizational account or transfer/restore the inaccessible profile’s contents. Contact the former employer’s IT administrator to ask whether sign-in can be temporarily restored; Microsoft directs work-account access issues to the organization’s administrator.^3^

If access is restored, perform the merge immediately using the steps above.

If you can sign in but the merge fails

Submit a Microsoft Credentials support request:

    1. Open Credentials support and select online support request.
    2. Confirm:
      • Product family: Learning
      • Product or Service: Microsoft Credentials
      • Type of Support: Professional No Charge
      • Preferred contact: Email
    3. Include:
      • The Learn Username for each profile
      • The old and new login-account types
      • A screenshot of the merge error
      • The certification names and approximate completion dates

Credentials support is provided by email, not by phone.^4^

Do not post account addresses, IDs, or other personal information publicly in this Q&A thread; provide them only through the private support request.
