Microsoft Teams: no longer access to previous chats from Skype

I suddenly remembered I had made a groupchat (with only me in it) which I used to "save" pictures, but I am now unable to access that chat as it appears that it doesn't exist anymore.

I remember going on Teams and seeing my old chats from Skype back when the retirement was announced. This made me believe that my chats were transferred and that I would be able to access them anytime. Although, when checking it out today, nothing remained that was transferred from Skype (neither contacts nor (group)chats). Teams is just blank.

Now I do have to admit that ever since Skype retired, I did not become as active on Teams as I was on Skype (my friends and I moved to Instagram since we weren't familiar with Teams). So I do not know if Teams just opted to delete my data as I was seen as inactive. But I do wonder if there's a way to still access those lost chats or if I should just give up on the search.

Thank you in advance.

Are you sure that you have signed in to Teams with exactly the same account as you have used with Skype?

Your old Skype chats should have been available in Teams, but only if you have used the right account. However, if the chat you are looking for is the "self-chat" named "Your Name (You)", then this chat was recently deleted, and is no longer available in Teams.

Also, there are some restrictions regarding contacts which have not been active for long time. Chats with these contacts might also have been removed from Teams.
