    Hi Sunil,

Changing the country/region associated with a Microsoft 365 subscription is not usually a direct account setting that can be switched while the subscription is active. In most cases, if you've moved to a different country, you'll need to:Update your Microsoft account's country/region and billing information, turn off recurring billing for the existing subscription then allow the current subscription to expire before purchasing a new Microsoft 365 subscription in the new country/region using a local payment method and billing address.

Since Microsoft 365 consumer subscriptions generally cannot be converted from one market to another while active. If you try to purchase in a different country before the existing subscription ends, you may encounter errors related to country, region, or currency mismatches.

Additionally, changing your Microsoft 365 subscription to a different country/region should not cause data loss in OneDrive, provided you're continuing to use the same Microsoft account. Your OneDrive files are associated with your Microsoft account, not with the country or currency of the subscription.

For a Microsoft 365 home subscription, the subscription country/region cannot be changed directly on the existing subscription.

    Use this process instead:

    1. Change the country or region on the Microsoft account profile:
      • Go to the Your info page of the Microsoft account dashboard.
      • Select Edit profile info.
      • Select the new Country or region.
    2. If the Microsoft 365 subscription was purchased in a different region, the existing subscription must be removed before buying in the new region:
      • Wait for the current subscription to expire, or
      • Cancel the existing subscription.
    3. After the old subscription is gone, purchase a new Microsoft 365 subscription for the new country/region.

    Important details:

    • A subscription bought for one region cannot be activated in a different region while the old regional subscription still exists.
    • A new subscription for the new region cannot be purchased until the existing one is gone.
    • Microsoft recommends changing region only for a long-term move, because items obtained in one region might not work in another.
    • Funds in the Microsoft account do not move between regions.
    • If renewing in a different country than the original purchase country, Microsoft directs customers to contact support.

If the region change itself is blocked, common reasons include:

    • The country or region was changed within the last three months.
    • The account is suspended, such as for an expired card or balance due.
    • Minor-status rules differ between the current and new country/region.
