Bing star bonus

Question

Bing star bonus

Salty 85

Hello, I have a question regarding the Bing Star Bonus.

I don’t have a phone, so I usually search Bing on my computer. I want to reach the 2,100-point milestone, but I’m concerned that my points won’t increase if I only search from my computer, or will do so very slowly.

Hi,

While having the Bing app on your mobile device can offer some benefits, I don't believe it is a requirement based on the instructions in the Bing Star Bonus "How it works" guide. You can continue earning up to 2,100 points as long as you maintain your Gold membership. To keep your Gold status, you only need to complete two Level Up activities, which you can find in this section. Of course, activities vary per region so check what's available for your account.

Hello, thank you for your response. I was just wondering whether my Bing star bonus points would still accumulate as usual if I only perform searches on my computer; I assume they would, just at a slower rate.

Searching on a computer can still earn Microsoft Rewards points. One of the listed ways to earn points is searching the web through the search box on the taskbar on a Windows 10/11 device, and Bing searches also earn points.

For Bing search earning specifically:

Level 1 members can earn points for up to 10 searches each day.
Level 2 members can earn points for up to 30 searches each day.

Mobile is not required to participate in Microsoft Rewards. A phone number is only requested when joining and occasionally when redeeming points for a reward. A mobile phone or landline number can be used for verification, but VoIP numbers are not permitted.

To help points track correctly while searching on a computer:

Stay signed in with the Microsoft account tied to Rewards.
Make sure searches are done in good faith.
Spread searches out during the day instead of doing rapid back-to-back searches.
Do not use bots, macros, or tricks such as repeated random letters or numbers.
Avoid using a VPN or trying to earn points outside the current market.

If points are not increasing, common reasons include:

signed in to a different account
Give Mode is on
the PC/mobile counter has already been maximized for the day
unusual search patterns triggered a temporary earning limit

If the issue is specifically about a bonus or milestone not appearing, it may take up to 5 days to display after it is issued, and it must be claimed if it appears in the dashboard.

If tracking still does not look right, use Microsoft Rewards Support.
