Hi,

On 31st DECEMBER 2022, I purchased Microsoft Store - Adobe PDFx - Editor & Reader and paid the amount of €49.99.

The invoice number edited by Microsoft Store is [PII Removed]

The invoice doesn't show any product key number and now Adobe is requesting me to pay again to use pdfX

Can you please solve my issue?

I thank you very much indeed

    Hi Anne-Cath Lallemand,

One important point is that PDF X and Adobe Acrobat are separate products. Your 2022 purchase was for PDF X: PDF Editor & PDF Reader, so an activation or payment request coming specifically from Adobe would not recognize that purchase.

Please check the name of the application currently installed. If it says Adobe Acrobat, rather than PDF X, that would explain why Adobe is requesting a new payment.

If you are definitely using PDF X and it still does not recognize the paid features, the next step would be to contact the PDF X developer/support team, as the in-app license recognition is handled by the application.

I hope this helps clarify why you are seeing the payment request.

Reinstall PDF X: PDF Editor & PDF Reader from the Microsoft Store while signed in with the Microsoft account used for the 2022 purchase; it is a separate product from Adobe Acrobat and normally should not be activated by paying Adobe again.^1^

    Reinstall the purchased app

    1. Open Microsoft Store on the Windows 11 PC.
    2. Select the profile icon, sign out, and then sign in with the same personal Microsoft account used on 31 December 2022.
    3. Select Library.
    4. Locate PDF X: PDF Editor & PDF Reader and select Install or the download/cloud icon.
    5. If it is not listed, open Microsoft account Payment & billing → Order history, set the date range to include December 2022, and find the completed order. Microsoft documents that Store apps can be recovered through Library or order history.^2^
    6. If the order has only Install and no product key, select Install. Microsoft notes that an app may not have a separate product key.^2^

The product displayed must be PDF X, not Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat is a different Store product, so an Adobe payment or activation screen will not restore the PDF X purchase.^3^

If PDF X installs but Premium remains locked

Check the 2022 order description to determine whether it covers the app, a subscription, or a lifetime in-app purchase. The current PDF X listing includes optional in-app purchases, including subscription and lifetime-license options.^1^

If Microsoft Order History shows that entitlement as Completed or Redeemed, but PDF X still requests payment:

    1. Open the Get Help app from Start.
    2. Enter Microsoft Store purchase missing.
    3. Select Contact Support.
    4. Ask the agent to verify the entitlement attached to the purchasing Microsoft account.
    5. Provide the invoice privately to the support agent—do not post the full invoice number in a public forum.

Order History is the appropriate place to verify the account, date, status, and invoice details.^4^

If Microsoft confirms that the Store entitlement is valid but Premium still does not unlock inside PDF X, contact the PDF X publisher through the support link on its Microsoft Store product page. Only the publisher can correct an app-side license-recognition problem.
