Reinstall PDF X: PDF Editor & PDF Reader from the Microsoft Store while signed in with the Microsoft account used for the 2022 purchase; it is a separate product from Adobe Acrobat and normally should not be activated by paying Adobe again.^1^
Reinstall the purchased app
- Open Microsoft Store on the Windows 11 PC.
- Select the profile icon, sign out, and then sign in with the same personal Microsoft account used on 31 December 2022.
- Select Library.
- Locate PDF X: PDF Editor & PDF Reader and select Install or the download/cloud icon.
- If it is not listed, open Microsoft account Payment & billing → Order history, set the date range to include December 2022, and find the completed order. Microsoft documents that Store apps can be recovered through Library or order history.^2^
- If the order has only Install and no product key, select Install. Microsoft notes that an app may not have a separate product key.^2^
The product displayed must be PDF X, not Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat is a different Store product, so an Adobe payment or activation screen will not restore the PDF X purchase.^3^
If PDF X installs but Premium remains locked
Check the 2022 order description to determine whether it covers the app, a subscription, or a lifetime in-app purchase. The current PDF X listing includes optional in-app purchases, including subscription and lifetime-license options.^1^
If Microsoft Order History shows that entitlement as Completed or Redeemed, but PDF X still requests payment:
- Open the Get Help app from Start.
- Enter Microsoft Store purchase missing.
- Select Contact Support.
- Ask the agent to verify the entitlement attached to the purchasing Microsoft account.
- Provide the invoice privately to the support agent—do not post the full invoice number in a public forum.
Order History is the appropriate place to verify the account, date, status, and invoice details.^4^
If Microsoft confirms that the Store entitlement is valid but Premium still does not unlock inside PDF X, contact the PDF X publisher through the support link on its Microsoft Store product page. Only the publisher can correct an app-side license-recognition problem.
