Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If you own an active Microsoft 365 Family, Premium, or Pro subscription, invite your wife from the subscription’s Sharing page rather than giving her access to your Microsoft account.
Send the invitation
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Services & subscriptions sharing page using the Microsoft account that owns the subscription.
- Select Share or Start sharing.
- Choose Email invite.
- Enter the email address your wife will use with her own Microsoft account, then select Invite.
Alternatively, select Create link → Copy link, and send the link to her by email or text. - She must accept within 48 hours. Until then, the dashboard will show Pending invite.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Share your Microsoft 365 subscription | Microsoft Support")
Your wife should then:
- Open the invitation and select Accept or Get started.
- Sign in with her own Microsoft account—not yours.
- Select Join now to join your Microsoft family group.
- Select Start using Microsoft 365 apps → Install, if she needs the desktop applications.[^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Someone invited you to share their Microsoft 365 subscription")
Using separate accounts keeps each person’s files, settings, and OneDrive storage separate.
If the sharing option is missing
Sharing is available only when:
- You are the owner of an active Microsoft 365 Family, Premium, or Pro subscription.
- You have an unused share available; eligible subscriptions support sharing with up to five other people.
- Your wife is not already receiving full benefits from another shared subscription.
Microsoft 365 Personal and Basic cannot be shared. If Share subscription does not appear under Services & subscriptions, check the subscription name and confirm that you signed in with the account that purchased it.[^3^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Troubleshoot sharing a Microsoft 365 subscription")
If she is already in another Microsoft family group, she must leave that group before accepting yours. If the email does not arrive, check her junk folder for a message containing “Microsoft 365,” or return to the Sharing page and choose Resend invite or send a newly created link.
Do not send her your password or Microsoft 365 product key; subscription sharing is completed only through the invitation process.
