how do I add my wife to my MS 360 account? I believe she is entitled to use my account. How do I send the email inviting her to sign up on my account?

    Follow https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/share-your-microsoft-365-subscription

Microsoft 365 Family, Microsoft 365 Premium, and Microsoft 365 Pro subscribers can share subscription benefits with up to five other people in their family group by sending an email or copying & sharing a link.

    Note

    • Sharing is not available in Microsoft 365 Basic or Microsoft 365 Personal subscriptions.
    • Once the invitee has accepted the sharing invitation from the subscription owner, the invitee automatically becomes a member of the subscription owner's family group.
    • Sharing is only possible if the invitee remains in the subscription owners' family group.
    • If invitees are already in another family group and try to accept the sharing invitation, they will see a message that they are already a member of another family group. They would need to first leave that family group before re-accepting the sharing invitation from the subscription owner.
    • Extended storage options and AI features like Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are only available to the subscription owner and cannot be shared with additional family group members.
    • Do not share your Microsoft 365 product key. Product keys cannot be used for sharing your subscription; please use the steps below to send an email or link to each person you want to share with.

How to share your Microsoft 365 subscription

Go to your Microsoft 365 Services & subscriptions sharing page at account.microsoft.com/services/office/sharing

    Select Share.

    Note

    • If you don't see the Start sharing button, you may not be the owner of the Microsoft 365 Family, Microsoft 365 Premium, or Microsoft 365 Pro subscription. If you're using a Microsoft 365 subscription that someone else shared with you, or if you have another type of Microsoft 365 subscription, you can't share your subscription with other people.
      • If the person you want to share your Microsoft 365 Family, Microsoft 365 Premium, or Microsoft 365 Pro subscription with is not yet in your family group, send them an email invitation or link to join your family group. If they are already in another family group, they will need to leave it to join yours.
Choose how you'd like to share,
Select ![](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/media/mail.png) **Email invite** then enter their email and select **Invite**.

Select ![](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/media/link.png) **Create link** then select **Copy link**. You can then paste the link in an email, text, or other message and send it to those you want to share with.

         **Note**

               - When you share your subscription with someone, they get an email from Microsoft telling them that you've shared your Microsoft 365 subscription with them.

                     - Each person you've shared with will need to select **Get started** in the email they receive to go to their Microsoft Family Safety site. If they don't have a Microsoft account, they'll be prompted to create one in order to move on.

                           - They should then select **Join now** to accept the invitation to join your family group before they can access the benefits of your Microsoft 365 subscription.

                                 - If you need to send an invitation again, find their name, and choose **Resend invite**.

They will need to accept your invitation within 48 hours. During this time, you will see "Pending invite" in your Microsoft 365 subscriptions dashboard.

                                 **Note**

Once you have shared, they can select the [Install Microsoft 365 on all your devices](https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365/install#) option on their account dashboard to install Microsoft 365 and access their OneDrive storage.

    Troubleshooting

Troubleshoot "It looks like you're already in a family group" error message

Sharing is only possible if the invitee joins the subscription owners' family group. If the invitee is already in another family group, they will need to leave it to join the subscription owners' family group.

Once the invitee has joined the family group, then the subscription owner can share the Microsoft 365 Family, Microsoft 365 Premium, or Microsoft 365 Pro benefits.

If you own an active Microsoft 365 Family, Premium, or Pro subscription, invite your wife from the subscription’s Sharing page rather than giving her access to your Microsoft account.

    Send the invitation

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Services & subscriptions sharing page using the Microsoft account that owns the subscription.
    2. Select Share or Start sharing.
    3. Choose Email invite.
    4. Enter the email address your wife will use with her own Microsoft account, then select Invite.
Alternatively, select Create link → Copy link, and send the link to her by email or text.
    5. She must accept within 48 hours. Until then, the dashboard will show Pending invite.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Share your Microsoft 365 subscription | Microsoft Support")

    Your wife should then:

    1. Open the invitation and select Accept or Get started.
    2. Sign in with her own Microsoft account—not yours.
    3. Select Join now to join your Microsoft family group.
    4. Select Start using Microsoft 365 apps → Install, if she needs the desktop applications.[^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Someone invited you to share their Microsoft 365 subscription")

Using separate accounts keeps each person’s files, settings, and OneDrive storage separate.

If the sharing option is missing

    Sharing is available only when:

    • You are the owner of an active Microsoft 365 Family, Premium, or Pro subscription.
    • You have an unused share available; eligible subscriptions support sharing with up to five other people.
    • Your wife is not already receiving full benefits from another shared subscription.

Microsoft 365 Personal and Basic cannot be shared. If Share subscription does not appear under Services & subscriptions, check the subscription name and confirm that you signed in with the account that purchased it.[^3^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Troubleshoot sharing a Microsoft 365 subscription")

If she is already in another Microsoft family group, she must leave that group before accepting yours. If the email does not arrive, check her junk folder for a message containing “Microsoft 365,” or return to the Sharing page and choose Resend invite or send a newly created link.

Do not send her your password or Microsoft 365 product key; subscription sharing is completed only through the invitation process.
