Surface Laptop 7 for Business Keeps Crashing and Is Now Unusable: How Do I Escalate This?

We purchased two Surface Laptop 7 for Business devices 9 months ago with 3-year Microsoft Complete for Business coverage.

Both devices have experienced repeated crashing. One has now reached the point where it is effectively unusable for business.

Microsoft Engineering is investigating the crashing issue, but after more than 6 weeks of working with support, we still have no ETA for a fix, no replacement, and no interim solution.

Most recently, Microsoft support told me:

“Unfortunately, our system and protocol are not allowing us to proceed with the replacement of your device.”

That leaves us with a business computer that is less than a year old, still under warranty, and cannot be reliably used, while Microsoft cannot tell us when the problem will be resolved or provide a functioning replacement.

How do I escalate this beyond the existing Surface support case to someone at Microsoft who has the authority to provide a replacement or other interim solution while Engineering investigates the crashing issue?

Also, if anyone else is experiencing repeated crashes with a Surface Laptop 7 for Business, I would be interested to hear whether you found a resolution.
