MSN account restricted for longer than 72 hours

My Microsoft/MSN account has been displaying the message:

"Account restricted – You cannot post comments for 72 hours."

This restriction has now been in place for approximately three weeks, considerably longer than the stated suspension period.

The notification refers to a breach of community guidelines but provides no information whatsoever about which comment, statement or particular guideline is alleged to have been breached.

I would therefore like to request:

A review of the restriction currently applied to my account.

Clarification of the specific comment or activity that triggered the restriction.

Identification of the community guideline allegedly breached.

Restoration of my commenting privileges if the restriction has expired or was incorrectly applied.

I appreciate that MSN has community standards and moderation policies, but I believe users should be given a reasonable explanation of restrictions placed upon their accounts and a meaningful opportunity to challenge decisions.

Please investigate this matter and restore my commenting privileges.

Thank you.

As per the AI response. This is not support for MSN.

Their support is via the Feedback link at the bottom of their webpage.

MSN comment restrictions are handled by MSN’s own moderation systems and support channels. There is no supported way here to view the exact comment, activity, or guideline that triggered the restriction, and this channel cannot review or remove the block.

The supported action is to report it directly to MSN:

    1. Open any MSN page that has comments enabled.
    2. Use the Feedback option on the MSN page.
    3. Include these details in the report:
      • the restriction message says “Account restricted – You cannot post comments for 72 hours”
      • the restriction has lasted about three weeks
      • commenting is blocked on all articles
      • the account previously could comment normally
      • request review of the restriction and restoration of commenting privileges

Relevant behavior documented for MSN moderation:

    • MSN uses automated and human moderation.
    • Automated moderation can incorrectly flag or block comments and accounts.
    • For MSN comment moderation issues, the feedback mechanism on MSN pages is the escalation path.

If the restriction is tied to the underlying Microsoft account being locked for suspicious activity or Terms of Use violations, sign in at https://account.microsoft.com to check the account status. If the sign-in flow does not show Let’s prove you’re human, use the aka.ms/ reinstatement link shown in the lock window and submit that form. Do not submit multiple reinstatement requests, because that can slow the review.
