Copilot Studio agent does not receive image attachments in Microsoft 365 Copilot channel

We have a standard Microsoft Copilot Studio agent with File uploads enabled.

The same published agent successfully receives and analyzes PNG images in:

  • Copilot Studio Test pane
  • Microsoft Teams

Image analysis also works correctly in regular Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat.

However, when the published Copilot Studio agent is used from Microsoft 365 Copilot, image attachments are not available to the agent. This occurs in both the Microsoft 365 Copilot desktop application and web application and affects multiple users.

The image appears to be attached in the Microsoft 365 Copilot UI, but the agent behaves as if only the text message was received.

Expected: Microsoft 365 Copilot passes the attached image to the Copilot Studio agent, as Microsoft Teams does.

Actual: The image isn't available to the agent.

This functionality worked previously (before 24.10.2026).

    Hello Lesiak, Norbert,
Thanks for sharing the detailed repro.

Since PNG attachments work with the same published agent in the Copilot Studio Test pane and Microsoft Teams, but are not reaching the agent through Microsoft 365 Copilot on both web and desktop, this does not appear to be an issue with the agent’s file upload configuration.

Considering this was working before 24 October 2026 and multiple users are now affected, this may require further investigation from the product team.

Could you please capture the agent ID, conversation/session ID, timestamp of a failed attempt, and relevant logs/traces? If possible, please also include a working test from Teams for comparison. This will help with further investigation.
