Startups: Companies that are in their initial stages of business and typically developing a business model and seeking financing.
Submit the case to Microsoft for Startups Program Support from the Azure portal, because Milestone 2 business-verification decisions and reapplication questions are handled by that team rather than ordinary Azure technical support.^1^
Raise the support request
- Sign in to the Azure portal using the account associated with your startup application.
- Open the Microsoft for Startups Program Overview page.
- On the Overview tab, find Your Microsoft Team.
- Select Get program support.
- In the request, choose the closest category to Verification & Compliance or Program & Onboarding. Both business verification and reapplication questions are explicitly within Program Support’s scope.^1^
- Attach the decline email and any relevant screenshots. Do not post sensitive registration documents publicly; provide them only through the support case if requested.
Include these questions and details:
- Startup name and website domain
- Email address used for the application
- Date of the Milestone 2 rejection
- Exact text from the rejection email
- Request for the specific information that could not be verified
- Whether additional documents can be submitted for manual review
- Which profile or registration details must be corrected before reapplying
Suggested ticket text:
My Milestone 2 application was declined because Microsoft could not verify my business. Please clarify which business or domain information could not be verified, whether additional documentation can be submitted for review, and what corrections are required before I reapply. I have attached the rejection email and relevant screenshots.
Program Support can clarify the reapplication criteria, but it cannot override an eligibility decision.^2^
Reapplying
A declined application can be submitted again after 14 days. A submitted application cannot be edited, so correct any mismatch before starting the new application.^2^
Before reapplying, compare the Foundry/Startups profile against your official records, especially:
- Legal business name
- Registered address
- Website and domain
- Business-registration information
- Contact email and account information
Wait for Program Support’s response where possible, so the next submission addresses the actual verification issue rather than resubmitting unchanged information.
If your account uses the older Startups portal
The older Microsoft for Startups Portal applies to startups that joined before May 29, 2026. In that portal:
- Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups Portal.
- Select the ? icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Submit a Support Ticket.
- Attach the rejection email and screenshots.^3^
If neither support option appears, use the application guidance to reach the program-support page; application-review and verification problems are routed there.^4^
