I have currently two problems with my table of contents:

  1. The numbering is wrong
    1. i have all titels i want with the heading format they need.
    2. I have tried updating it severlal times, the numbers still don't match.
    3. the tutorials i have looked up is for regular word not the web browser version and I can't follow them because i don't have the same things/ layout.
  2. The format is wrong
    1. I have tried to manually change the font and size to the one i want but when highlighting anything in the table i loose the ability too click on both the size and font changer.
    2. the web browser version only have the automatic version aviable.
    3. the web browser version have no customizable settings besides on which side the page number should be on in the table.

I use the web browser version on the browser DuckDuckGO. I am not sure which version of office I'm using but i thing it is Microsoft 365 office

(edited: added that the word version I'm using is the web browser in DuckDuckGO and Microsoft 365 office)

Hello,

Sounds like you might be using Word in your web browser instead of the downloaded desktop app, since the web version is super limited with the table of contents settings and does not let you tweak the fonts or formatting easily.

Could you let me know if you are working from a web browser like Edge? Also when you say the numbering is wrong, do you mean the actual page numbers do not match the pages the headings are on, or do you mean the chapter numbers on the headings themselves are acting up?

Let me know so we can figure this out.
