Hi Mark Pierce,
I can understand why losing eight months of conversations would be especially upsetting when Copilot had been supporting an important project and your schoolwork.
One important point is that the Copilot experience and its previous context are connected to the conversation history saved under the account you were using. If that history is no longer visible, starting a new conversation may not provide Copilot with the same project context it had built up through the earlier chats.
Microsoft states that signed-in Copilot users can normally access the last 18 months of conversation history, so an eight-month-old conversation would generally still fall within that period: Conversation history in Microsoft Copilot
Unfortunately, this is a user-to-user support forum, and moderators and contributors cannot access your account, inspect back-end records, or restore missing conversations directly. If the project does not appear after checking the exact account originally used, the available reporting or support options described in the AI answer would be the appropriate next step.
If you reply and let us know whether this was a personal Microsoft account or a school account, as well as where you normally used Copilot, the community may be able to help narrow down the applicable steps. Thank you so much for your understanding.
