Microsoft Account Remediation Loop After Forced Outlook.com Migration

My Microsoft 365 Family subscription was originally created and managed using a custom-domain Microsoft account. Microsoft later required me to create an Outlook.com address and make it the primary account identity. Since that migration, account management workflows have been failing despite successful authentication.

I'm posting this from a different account as the problem is self-reinforcing: the same account-remediation failure that blocks account management also prevents me from obtaining support while signed in as the affected account.

    Welcome Mike Harriman,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Q&A, and for explaining the background so clearly. I understand how frustrating it is to sign in successfully and still be blocked from managing your account and subscription. I'd like to help you sort this out.

To narrow it down, could you tell me:

    • Which task fails? For example, managing your Microsoft 365 Family subscription or sharing, changing email addresses, security settings, or billing.
    • What exactly happens? Is there an error message or code, a blank page, or are you sent back to the sign-in page? A screenshot with personal details hidden would help.
    • Which email address do you sign in with, the new Outlook.com address or the custom-domain address?
    • Does it happen in every browser and on every device you've tried, including your phone?

    Looking forward to your update.
