I have followed the setting as described in a previous query. My system continues to turn on do not disturb every day. Any other suggestions to disable this setting permanently?

    Hi @anonymous 6,

Since Do not disturb turns on at the same time every day, another scheduled feature may be triggering it.

    Please check the following:

    • In Teams, select Settings and more > Settings > Privacy, then turn off Set my status to Do not disturb when I’m sharing my screen. User's image
    • Check whether a recurring Focus time event or Viva Insights focus plan appears in your Outlook calendar. Focus time can change the Teams status to Focusing and silence notifications.
    • On your mobile Teams app, open Notifications > Block during quiet hours and disable any configured hours or days. If Set on Teams and Outlook is enabled, also check Outlook mobile.

Could you also confirm whether the Teams status itself changes to Do not disturb, or whether only the notifications are silenced? This will help identify whether the setting originates from Teams, Windows, Viva Insights, or a mobile quiet-time schedule.

Thank you again for your time and understanding. I really appreciate your patience, and I’m here to help. Looking forward to your response.

Check the Outlook calendar at the time Do not disturb activates; if a recurring Focus time appointment is present, turn off the Viva Insights focus plan and remove its existing calendar series.

Stop a recurring Viva Insights focus plan

A Viva Insights focus plan can automatically book focus time every day. During those blocks, Teams changes the status to Focusing and suppresses notifications, even if the focus-mode notification is ignored.^1^

    1. Open Outlook Calendar and locate the time when the status changes.
    2. Look for an appointment named Focus time.
    3. Open Viva Insights in Teams and navigate to the focus-plan settings.
    4. Choose the option to change or leave/turn off the focus plan.
    5. Return to Outlook and delete the existing recurring Focus time series if it is no longer needed. Turning off the plan stops new bookings, but existing appointments may remain.^2^
    6. In Teams, select profile picture > current status > Reset status.

    Check the Teams presentation trigger

If Do not disturb starts when screen sharing rather than at a fixed calendar time:

    1. In Teams, select Settings and more (…) > Settings > Privacy.
    2. Turn off Set my status to Do not disturb when I’m sharing my screen.

That option is enabled by default.^3^

Teams presence can be determined by app activity, Outlook calendar state, calls, meetings, and the most recently active signed-in device. A manually selected Do not disturb status normally remains for one day unless a duration is specified, so a daily reappearance at a consistent time is more indicative of an automatic event or trigger than a permanent manual status.^4^

If the Windows notification setting is turning on instead

Teams status and Windows Do not disturb are separate settings. If the taskbar notification bell shows Do not disturb:

    1. Open Start > Settings > System > Notifications.
    2. Expand Turn on do not disturb automatically.
    3. Disable each unwanted condition:
      • During certain times
      • When duplicating the display
      • When playing a game
      • When using an app in full-screen mode
      • For the first hour after a Windows feature update
    4. Turn off the main Do not disturb switch.^5^

If no automatic trigger is visible

Test Teams on the web when the next recurrence happens. If the web client remains correct but desktop Teams changes to Do not disturb, reset the desktop client:

    1. Sign out of Teams.
    2. Open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
    3. Find Microsoft Teams, select … > Advanced options > Reset.
    4. Restart Teams and sign in again.^6^

Also sign out of unused phones or computers temporarily, because the most recently active Teams device can determine presence. If the behavior occurs in both web and desktop clients with no Focus time or presentation trigger, ask the Microsoft 365 administrator to review organizational presence settings.
