Additional settings-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Hi Raymond,
Thank you for the information.
Manitoba Standard Time was introduced on October 13, 2026—KB5126653 (OS Build 22621.7652) | Microsoft Support update as the new (UTC-05:00) Manitoba time zone.
Normally, Teams uses the device’s operating-system language, regional, date, and time settings, but based on the behavior you described, Teams isn't correctly recognizing the new Windows time zone identifier:
- Windows displays the correct time
- Outlook displays calendar items correctly, but Teams returns "Current time zone: Unknown"
- Teams meetings are shifted by one hour
- Returning Windows to Central Time (US & Canada) immediately restores the correct Teams behavior.
However, I cannot find any public Microsoft advisory, even in Microsoft 365 Service Health Dashboard, confirming that this is a known Teams issue or providing a timeline for full support of Manitoba Standard Time.
For now, as a temporary workaround, I highly recommend continuing to use Central Time (US & Canada) to keep Teams meetings correct. As an optional test, please completely quit and restart Teams after changing the time zone. You can also follow the steps in this article Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams to reset the new Teams app or its local cache may help rule out stale client data and see if it helps resolve the issue.
If the issue still persists, please contact your IT administrator and ask him/her to use the Report an issue option in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Health > Service Health to help raise visibility and provide additional diagnostic information to Microsoft. This allows them to review and acknowledge the issue, which can help prioritize a fix as soon as possible.
If you are unsure who your IT administrator is, please refer to this guide: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin?
I will also continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed of any new information as it becomes available.
