When I go to my email outlook inbox , it does not download new messages. In addition, I can't sent any messages

Which Outlook are you using: Classic Outlook for Windows, New Outlook, Outlook.com in a browser, or the mobile app?

What exact error message do you get when you try to send an email or refresh the Inbox?

Please sign in at https://outlook.live.com/mail do new emails appear there, and can you send an email from there?

This will help determine whether the problem is with the Outlook app or the email account itself.

Try these checks in order:

Verify the internet connection.
- Open a browser and try loading http://www.microsoft.com or http://www.bing.com.
- If those sites do not load, fix the network connection first.
Check whether mailbox or Microsoft cloud storage is full.
- If storage is full, Outlook cannot send or receive email.
- Check mailbox storage and remove items if needed.
Look for messages stuck in Drafts or Outbox.
- If a message is stuck, remove it or resend it.
- If the message has an attachment larger than 25 MB, remove the attachment and send a smaller file or use OneDrive and attach a link instead.
If using Outlook on PC or Mac with an Outlook.com account, run Send/Receive all folders.
- Go to Send/Receive > Send/Receive all folders.
If Outlook is not automatically downloading mail at startup, recreate the Send/Receive group.
- In Outlook 2010 and later: File > Options > Advanced > Send/Receive.
- Select the existing group, choose Copy, give the new group a name, then disable the old group by clearing Include this group in Send/Receive (F9) for both online and offline.
- Close Outlook and restart it.
If using Outlook.com, check the account state.
- If the password was changed recently, update it.
- The account may also be temporarily blocked because of unusual sign-in activity.
For Outlook for Mac only:
- On the Outlook menu, make sure Work Offline is not checked.
- For POP or IMAP accounts, verify SMTP authentication is enabled under Tools > Accounts > account > Outgoing server > More Options.
