For Phone Link calling on a desktop PC, the most common fixes are Bluetooth connection issues, missing call permissions, or another app interfering with calling.
- Check the basic requirements on the desktop PC:
- The PC must support Bluetooth.
- The Android phone must be running Android 10 or later.
- In Phone Link > Calls, complete the setup and allow the permissions prompt on the Android device.
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on, then reconnect:
- On the Android phone, open the notification panel and turn Bluetooth off, then on again.
- If calls still fail, manually reconnect the phone to the PC from the Android Bluetooth device list, then confirm the connection prompts on both devices.
- Check Windows Do Not Disturb:
- Open the notification center on the PC.
- Turn Do Not Disturb off.
- Restart the PC.
- Close Phone Link and reopen it.
- Fully unpair and pair again if calls disconnect or audio does not work:
- On Android: Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Bluetooth.
- Select the paired PC and choose Unpair or Forget.
- On Windows: Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Select the Android device and choose Remove device.
- If more than one entry exists for the same phone, remove all of them.
- Open Phone Link again and set up Calls again.
- Check for conflicting apps on the desktop:
- Apps that also pair the phone to the PC can interfere with Phone Link calling, including manufacturer apps or third-party apps such as Intel Unison or Virtoo by LG.
- In Windows, go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Uninstall or disable those apps, sign out of them, then unpair and pair the phone again in Phone Link.
- If audio is missing during calls:
- Phone Link does not support relaying the phone call from the Android device to a Bluetooth headset connected to the PC.
- Test the call using the PC speakers and microphone instead of Bluetooth headphones.
- If the connection drops after a while:
- Battery optimization on Android can interrupt the Link to Windows connection.
- On Android, turn off battery optimization for Link to Windows: Settings > Apps & notifications > App info > Link to Windows > Advanced > Battery > Manage Battery Usage > Battery optimization > Don't optimize
If the desktop can send messages but calls disconnect or there is no voice, the most useful end-to-end fix is:
- remove the Bluetooth pairing on both phone and PC,
- remove any duplicate Bluetooth entries,
- disable/uninstall other phone-connection apps,
- pair again from Phone Link > Calls,
- test with PC speakers/mic instead of Bluetooth headphones.
