    Dear @Rajesh Gahalot

I understand that onlineyashraj.com is still being detected as associated with an old Microsoft 365 tenant, which is preventing you from setting up the domain again with Microsoft 365 through GoDaddy.

A custom domain can only be verified in one Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Entra tenant at a time. Removing the account or link from the GoDaddy side does not necessarily remove the domain association from the old Microsoft tenant. Please refer to this document: Manage custom domain names in your Microsoft Entra ID

If you still have administrator access to the old Microsoft 365 tenant, I recommend:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
    2. Go to Settings > Domains.
    3. Select onlineyashraj.com and choose Remove domain.
    4. If Microsoft reports dependencies, remove or change any users, aliases, groups, mailboxes, or administrator accounts that are still using @onlineyashraj.com, then try removing the domain again.

Microsoft’s official instructions are available here:

Remove a domain from Microsoft 365

If you cannot access the old tenant, this cannot be completed from the Microsoft Q&A forum because Independent Advisors and community moderators do not have backend access to release domains or modify tenants. In that situation, you will need to contact Microsoft Support and request assistance with releasing onlineyashraj.com from the previous Microsoft 365 tenant. Microsoft may need to verify your ownership of the domain before it can be released.

Since you are setting up Microsoft 365 through

GoDaddy, I also recommend following GoDaddy’s specific domain-release instructions:

GoDaddy – Remove my email’s domain from Microsoft

Once onlineyashraj.com has been fully released from the old Microsoft tenant, you should be able to return to GoDaddy and complete the new Microsoft 365 email setup.

I hope this helps clarify the required next step.

A custom domain can be connected to only one Microsoft 365 tenant at a time. If onlineyashraj.com still appears as in use after removing it from the old account, the remaining steps are:

    1. Sign in to the old Microsoft 365 admin center.
    2. Move all users off that domain:
      • Go to Users > Active users.
      • Select affected users.
      • Select Change domains and choose a different domain.
      • If the admin account uses that domain, change the username under Users > Active users > select the account > Account > Manage username, then sign out and sign back in with the new domain.
    3. Move all groups and distribution lists off that domain:
      • Go to Teams & groups > Active teams & groups.
      • Open each Microsoft 365 group, Teams-connected group, and distribution list using the domain.
      • Under General > Aliases > Edit, change the Primary email address to another domain and save.
    4. Confirm the domain is not:
      • the default domain
      • used by any users, shared mailboxes, resource mailboxes, or contacts
      • used by any Microsoft 365 groups, distribution lists, or Teams
      • used for sign-in by any admin accounts
    5. Remove the domain:
      • Go to Settings > Domains.
      • Select the domain.
      • Select Remove domain.

If the old tenant is a GoDaddy-managed Microsoft 365 account, use the official GoDaddy defederation process. Microsoft recommends following GoDaddy’s documented steps and contacting GoDaddy support if there are issues.

If the process still does not work, manual removal requires support assistance:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    2. Select Help & Support at the bottom right.
    3. In Support Assistant, enter the issue.
    4. Review the results, then select Contact support if needed.
