I have bought many games from Big Fish Games they have always played on my older devices but when I tried to put them on my new computer they will not play everytime I try it just says DRM Daemon Window cannot be found.

Its driving me crazy because I'm not a computer whizz I only know the basics. I have paid for the games Big Fish told me to go to options and click on UPGRADE I did this but it didn't solve my issue. I can watch content on Youtube and other sites its just Big fish games that I have bought that will not download and play.

If you can help me I will be very very grateful.

Hi Pamela Fowell

Since the error specifically mentions "DRM Daemon Window cannot be found", this appears related to the Big Fish Games DRM/licensing component rather than Microsoft Store.

You could try:

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the Big Fish Games App/Game Manager.
  • Running the game and the Big Fish launcher as Administrator.
  • Temporarily disabling third-party antivirus software to see if it is blocking the DRM service.
  • Checking whether the game is very old and requires an update to be compatible with Windows 11.

If the issue affects multiple Big Fish games on the new PC, the most likely cause is a problem with the Big Fish Games launcher, licensing service, or game compatibility. In that case, it would be best to continue working with Big Fish Support, as they manage the DRM system used by their games.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Check app compatibility on the new PC Some apps and games only work on specific device types or Windows versions. If the game worked on older devices but not the new computer, compatibility can be the cause.
    2. Make sure Windows is fully updated Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates. If updates are available, install them. If Windows was recently updated, restart the PC before trying the game again.
    3. Update Microsoft Store Open Microsoft Store. Select See more > Downloads and updates > Get updates. If an update for Microsoft Store is available, it installs automatically.
    4. Reset the Microsoft Store cache Press Windows key + R. Type wsreset.exe and select OK. A blank Command Prompt window opens, then closes after about 10 seconds, and Microsoft Store opens automatically.
    5. Reinstall the app from your library if it appears there In Microsoft Store, select See more > My Library. Find the app or game and select Install.
    6. Check whether the app is hidden or blocked on this device Possible reasons include:
      • the app is not available in the current country or region
      • family settings are hiding it
      • the app is no longer available
      • the app is not compatible with the device
      • the PC is not authorized to use Microsoft Store apps
    7. If the app is older, try Windows compatibility help Older apps can stop working on newer Windows versions because of OS, security, or system requirement changes. Running the compatibility troubleshooter and updating device drivers through Windows Update can help.
    8. If the game still does not install or run, contact support For technical support, go to Contact Microsoft Support, enter the problem, and select Get Help. If needed, select Contact Support.
