Element drag & drop in element inspector no longer works

Sometime in the past few weeks, Edge (and all Chromium browsers I've tested) no longer allows users to drag and drop individual elements within element inspector. This was a very useful tool for web design and troubleshooting. Is there a way to re-enable this functionality?

    Hi Justin Freeze,

Since the behavior is occurring across multiple Chromium-based browsers, it may be related to a recent change in Chromium DevTools rather than an Edge-specific setting.

As a quick check, you may want to:

    1. Test the same page using a different Edge profile or InPrivate window.
    2. Verify whether the behavior is consistent across multiple websites, including a simple local HTML test page.
    3. Check the Edge DevTools Experiments settings (Settings > Experiments) to see if any recent DevTools features can be toggled.

If the functionality is no longer available across Chromium-based browsers, it may indicate a design change or regression within the underlying Chromium DevTools platform. In that case, submitting feedback through Edge's built-in feedback tool (Alt + Shift + I) can help the engineering teams investigate the behavior further.
