There is nothing wrong with your system, Microsoft have added that vignette shadow to the background in the Edge browser and they have not provided any setting to disable that shadow, so it is not currently possible to remove that shadow.

    Try these in order:

    1. Turn off the new tab background look
      • On the Edge new tab page, switch off Switch to a new look in the top-right.
      • That can remove the styled background effect shown in the screenshot.
    2. Reset the Edge new tab background data
      • Warning: this can reset Edge profile data such as settings, sign-in state, and customizations.
      • Press Windows + R.
      • Enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge\
      • Make a backup of the User Data folder.
      • Delete the User Data folder.
      • Open Edge again and test the new tab page.
    3. Repair Microsoft Edge
      • Close Edge completely.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      • Select Microsoft Edge > Modify.
      • If prompted, select Yes.
      • Stay connected to the internet and select Repair.
      • Browser data and settings should not be affected by repair.
      • If Modify is unavailable, Edge may be managed by an organization.
    4. Restart the PC
      • A running process can interfere with Edge. Restart Windows and check the new tab page again.

If the issue is only on the Edge start page, step 1 or step 2 is the most relevant path.
