I am setting up Azure Artifact Signing Basic for my software development company, Wolfe1.com LLC.
My Azure subscription and Artifact Signing account were created successfully. I submitted a Public organization identity-validation request and received an email from Microsoft asking me to complete the verification process.
The problem
When I follow the verification link, the Microsoft credentials website displays:
"You need permission."
It says I am authenticated under the Microsoft Accounts tenant instead of the Wolfe1.com LLC Microsoft Entra directory associated with my Artifact Signing account.
What I have already verified
My Azure Pay-As-You-Go subscription is active.
My Artifact Signing Basic account was successfully deployed in East US.
My account has the Owner role.
I explicitly assigned the Artifact Signing Identity Verifier role to my account.
Wolfe1.com LLC is selected as my current Azure directory.
Microsoft Authenticator successfully authenticates my account.
The same error occurs in a private browser window.
The Azure portal shows my identity-validation request as submitted/in progress.
Additional context
I use a personal Microsoft account associated with a Gmail address to administer the Wolfe1.com LLC Azure directory. Azure represents that account as a Guest user.
The automated troubleshooting assistant suggested completing identity validation and creating a certificate profile. However, completing identity validation is precisely where the permission error occurs.
My question
How can I make the Microsoft credentials verification website authenticate my existing account against the correct Wolfe1.com LLC Entra tenant?
Could this be caused by a tenant association problem involving my personal Microsoft account or Guest identity?
I would prefer to resolve the existing identity-validation request rather than create another Azure subscription, signing account, or verification request.
Thank you for any guidance.
