where is my new word application

I installed the updated microsoft office package because my word application was no longer supported. however, i do not see the new word application. i do see excel, outlook etc. i want to have word to be able to update my old documents

    Hello David Rice,

    Since Excel and Outlook are showing up but Word isn't, it's possible that Word was installed but its shortcut is missing.

    Could you try this quick check?

    1. Press Windows + R to open Run.
    2. Type winword.exe and press Enter.
    3. See whether Microsoft Word opens.

    If Word opens, the application is installed, and you should be able to open and edit your existing documents.

    If Windows says it cannot find winword.exe, please let us know. Also, as Stefan mentioned, confirming which Office version you installed would help us determine the next step.
