My beats ear buds aren't listed in the choices for available devices and the computer can't "find" them.

    Welcome E Day,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that your Beats earbuds don't appear in the list of available Bluetooth devices, and your Windows 11 computer can't find them when you try to pair.

To narrow this down, could you please confirm:

    • Can your computer find other Bluetooth devices, such as your phone, when you select Add device?
    • Have these Beats been paired with this computer before, or are they linked to an Apple ID through an iPhone, iPad or Mac?

In the meantime, you can try these steps:

    1, Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter

    • Open Start, search for Get Help, and open it.
    • Type Run the Windows Bluetooth troubleshooter, then follow the prompts.

2, Restart the Bluetooth Support Service

    • Press Windows key + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    • Find Bluetooth Support Service, right-click it, and select Restart.
    • Right-click it again, select Properties, set Startup type to Automatic, and select OK.

3, Turn off power saving for the Bluetooth adapter

    • Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
    • Expand Bluetooth, right-click your Bluetooth adapter, and select Properties.
    • On the Power Management tab, clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power, then select OK.

    Looking forward to your update.

    Hi E,

In order to make them appear in the Windows key + A menu > Bluetooth, or the Settings app, you must first put the app in the pairing mode.

May I know the make and model of the earbuds in order to provide better help?

I look forward to hearing from you to get the results of the troubleshooting.

Put the Beats earbuds into discovery mode before searching again, because Windows cannot list them while they are merely powered on.

    Pair the Beats earbuds

    1. Charge the earbuds and keep them close to the computer.
    2. If they are connected to a phone or tablet, temporarily turn off Bluetooth on that device.
    3. For most Beats earbuds with a charging case:
      • Put both earbuds in the case.
      • Leave the case open.
      • Press and hold the case’s system button until its indicator flashes white.
For Beats Flex, hold the power button until the light flashes white. The flashing light indicates that the Beats are discoverable. ^1^
    4. On the computer, select Start → Settings → Bluetooth & devices and turn Bluetooth on.
    5. Select Add device → Bluetooth, then choose the Beats when their name appears. ^2^

The expected result is that Windows displays Connected beneath the Beats device.

If the Beats still do not appear

Change Windows from its default discovery filter to showing every Bluetooth device:

    1. Open Start → Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Devices.
    2. Under Device settings, find Bluetooth devices discovery.
    3. Change it from Default to Advanced.
    4. Put the Beats back into discovery mode—the light must be flashing white—and select Add device → Bluetooth again. ^3^

Also keep the earbuds away from USB 3.0 devices, routers, and microwaves while pairing; interference can prevent detection. If necessary, reset the Beats using the model-specific procedure and then pair them again. ^4^

If Windows cannot find any Bluetooth devices

    Check the computer’s Bluetooth adapter:

    1. Right-click Start → Device Manager.
    2. Expand Bluetooth.
    3. Right-click the Bluetooth adapter—not the earbuds—and select Update driver → Search automatically for drivers.
    4. Restart the computer after installation.
    5. If Windows says the best driver is already installed, obtain the current Windows 11 Bluetooth driver from the computer manufacturer’s support site. ^5^

If Bluetooth appears in Device Manager but updating does not help, reinstall the adapter:

    1. In Device Manager → Bluetooth, right-click the Bluetooth adapter.
    2. Select Uninstall device → Uninstall.
    3. Shut down the computer, wait several seconds, and turn it back on.
    4. Windows should reinstall the adapter automatically. If it does not, open Device Manager and select Action → Scan for hardware changes. ^3^

If there is no Bluetooth category or Bluetooth switch anywhere in Windows, the PC may lack Bluetooth hardware or its adapter may require a manufacturer driver or compatible USB Bluetooth adapter.
