Windows 11 Lock Screen Clock

I have noticed that in the lock screen, you can disable widgets, but not the actual clock. It’d be nice if a new feature was added to disable it and give the lock screen a nice clean look. It needs slightly more customisation to make it fully clean, with just the wallpaper in the background. Would be very nice on an aesthetics standpoint. I believe many others have requested this feature.

    Welcome Alexander Talbot,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand you'd like the option to hide the clock on the Windows 11 lock screen, so only the wallpaper shows and the screen looks clean and simple.

For now, please follow the guidance provided in the Q&A answer above to customize the lock screen as much as possible, including turning off widgets for a cleaner appearance.

Since your request is a feature suggestion rather than a technical issue, I would also encourage you to submit feedback directly to the right team through Feedback Hub:

    • Press Win + F to open Feedback Hub.
    • Select Suggest a feature.
    • Describe your request to allow users to hide the lock screen clock/date for a fully clean wallpaper-only lock screen.
    • Submit the feedback and search for similar suggestions to upvote them, as higher-voted feedback helps Microsoft understand user demand.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Windows 11 currently supports customizing the lock screen background and widgets, but not removing the built-in clock/date from the lock screen.

    What can be customized now:

    1. Go to Start > Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.
    2. Under Personalize your lock screen, choose Windows spotlight, Picture, or Slideshow.
    3. Under Widgets, remove widgets individually or turn Widgets Off to keep the lock screen cleaner.

    What is not currently supported:

    • There is no supported setting in the provided Windows 11 customization options to hide the native lock screen clock.
    • Community guidance in the provided Microsoft Q&A also states that removing the clock and date from the Windows 10 and 11 lock screen is not currently possible.
