I cannot use copilot chatbot

My personal Copilot Chat suddenly stopped working on 23 October 2026, despite working normally earlier that morning. I did not change any settings or accounts.

The Windows app now says, “Copilot Chat isn't available for your age group.” My account's birthday and country are correct.

The old interface at copilot.microsoft.com briefly appears on browser before redirecting to Microsoft 365. My old chats appear in the new interface, but I cannot open them, and new chats are unavailable.

Could you clarify why this happened suddenly and whether my access can be restored if this is an error?

    Hi, Daniel Wu

Thanks for explaining that your birthday and country are already correct. Rather than changing those details again, there’s a separate age-verification check worth looking at.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Open the age-verification guidance and check your Microsoft account’s age-assurance status. Complete verification only if prompted, or if your country offers the Verify your age option. If one offered method fails, you can try another. This checks verification without changing your birthday, although it is not a confirmed fix for this Copilot error.

If verification is already complete, use… > Send feedback > Report a problem in the updated Copilot interface, if accessible. Describe the age message and blocked conversations together. This reports the problem for investigation, but does not guarantee restoration.
