    Hi Almansberger, Joan,

The steps in AI's answer above should apply if you are using Outlook on the web or Outlook.com. You can also refer to Microsoft’s official guide here: Restore or recover a deleted contact in Outlook.

If the contact is not listed under People > Deleted or Recover deleted, please let me know which Outlook version you are using and what options appear on the People page. This will help me suggest the appropriate next step.

I hope you can recover the contact successfully. Thank you so much for your understanding.

If the contact was deleted in Outlook on the web or Outlook.com, restore it from People first:

    1. Select People from the navigation pane.
    2. Select Deleted.
    3. Find the contact, right-click it, and select Restore.

If the contact is no longer in Deleted:

    1. Go to People > Deleted.
    2. Select Recover deleted at the top.
    3. Select the contact.
    4. Select Restore.

Recovered contacts are restored to their original folder when possible. If the original folder no longer exists, they are restored to the default Contacts folder.

If the contact does not appear in People > Deleted, refresh the page. If it still does not appear, check Mail > Deleted Items, then right-click the item and select Restore.
