For duplicate or unexpected Minecraft charges, start with the account billing tools first:
- Open the Manage your payments page in the Microsoft account dashboard and use Investigate for the unrecognized or duplicate charges.
- Also review Order history and confirm whether all three charges appear there.
- If a purchase does not appear in Microsoft Store order history, it was likely made using a non-Microsoft billing platform, and the refund must be handled by the publisher or billing platform used.
- For the Minecraft purchase that is listed as eligible, submit the refund request through the Xbox refund page:
- Select the relevant item
- Choose Request a refund
- Enter the reason
- Select Next and then Submit
- Refund requests can take up to 72 hours to process. After submission, check the Refund status tab or Xbox order history.
- If online return or refund options are not available for the extra charges, contact Sales support for Microsoft Store purchases.
Important details:
- If Microsoft shows the refund as issued but the bank has not posted it yet, refunds are generally applied to the original payment method and may take 3–5 business days.
- If the charges are truly unauthorized, Microsoft recommends using Manage your payments to investigate them.
- Avoid filing repeated chargebacks with the bank unless necessary, because repeated misuse of chargebacks can be considered fraud.
