Where has Onecloud subdirectory dissapeared to?

I have, or had until a few hours ago, a onecloud subdirectory with several thousand photos stored in it. It now doesn't appear in the directory listing. What has happened to it, and how can I regain access?

    I’m sorry the folder containing your photos has disappeared. This does not necessarily mean the photos were deleted.

    Is the folder missing from Windows File Explorer, the OneDrive website, or both?

    If it is still visible online but missing from File Explorer:

    • Click the OneDrive cloud icon near the clock.
    • Open Settings > Account > Choose folders.
    • Check whether your photo folder is selected. If not, select it and click OK.

    Deleted files go to the online recycle bin, where you can restore them, as long as you do so within 30 days of deletion and have enough OneDrive storage.

    Free OneDrive only provides 5 GB of storage. If you need more storage, you must have an active OneDrive storage subscription.
