GPT-Live with ACS demo?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone successfully implemented GPT-Live with Azure Communication Services (ACS) in full duplex mode?

With the Realtime API, we have clear events that help us handle things like user interruptions / barge-in and stopping the assistant response.

With GPT-Live, I don't see the same kind of events, so it is not clear to me how interruption handling should work properly while both sides can send and receive audio.

Does anyone have a working sample or demo of GPT-Live + ACS with duplex audio and interruption handling?

Any examples or guidance would be really helpful. Thanks!

Yes, GPT-Live can be used with Azure Communication Services (ACS) for full-duplex voice scenarios, but interruption (barge-in) handling differs from the Realtime API.

    1. GPT-Live does not expose the same interruption events you may be familiar with from the Realtime API.
    2. Implement barge-in on the ACS side by detecting incoming user speech (VAD/speech activity) and immediately stopping or truncating the assistant audio playback when the user starts speaking.
    3. Treat ACS as the telephony/audio transport layer and manage interruption logic in your application.
    4. Microsoft currently provides ACS + OpenAI voice samples, but complete GPT-Live duplex interruption demos are limited and typically require custom handling.

Use ACS speech activity detection to trigger assistant playback cancellation and resume the conversation flow, rather than relying on GPT-Live interruption events. This is the common approach for production voice bots.
