Managing presence indicators such as Available, Busy, or Away to reflect user availability
Dear @Carney, Brandon,
Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!
Regarding your situation, if Automatic Replies have already been turned off in both Teams and Outlook, one common cause is that Teams is still receiving an Out of Office signal from Exchange or from a calendar event that is marked as "Show As: Out of Office."
To help troubleshoot, could you please try the following:
- Review your Outlook calendar
- Check for any all-day events, recurring meetings, vacation entries, or future calendar events
- Open those events and verify whether Show As is set to Out of Office. If so, change it to Busy or Free and save the changes
- Verify Outlook on the web
- Sign in to Outlook on the web and navigate to Settings > Mail > Automatic Replies
- Confirm that Automatic Replies are turned off there as well
- Sign out of Teams on all devices
- Sign out of Teams desktop, web, and mobile
- Wait a few minutes, then sign back in to allow the presence status to resynchronize
- Refresh your Teams presence
- In Teams, select Set status message, enter any temporary message, and save it
- After a few minutes, remove the message and check whether your status updates correctly
- Clear the Teams cache
- If you're using the new Teams client, clearing the Teams cache and restarting the application may help refresh stale presence information
Please let me know whether you find any calendar events marked as Out of Office, and whether the issue persists after completing the steps above.
If the status remains stuck, your IT administrator may be able to run additional Teams/Exchange diagnostics to identify any lingering Out of Office settings or synchronization issues.
Kindly let me know when there are updates or if you need further assistance. Any updates you're able to share would be really helpful. I appreciate vour time and look forward to hearing how things are going!
Thank you for your time and patience.
