Hi all

We have to deploy a private cloud based on open source so we have a dilemma between Canonical Openstack or Proxmox. We also need to deploy mission critical MS SQL server as one of VMs. Which platform would you suggest? As far as I know Openstack is on the list of MS partners. So the question is can we open the MS ticket, providing we are the owner of the corresponding MS licences, IF the underlying platform is Openstack ? If the answer is "yes" then what about Proxmox ?

for support both the hosting hardware and o/s must be certified by Microsoft. see:

as you are planning using on-prem, you should talk to your hardware vendor about supported configurations.
