Not able to verify my student status for Azure for students plan.

I am trying to obtain Azure for Students using my personal Microsoft account and my university email for academic verification. The university verification email is successfully delivered, but opening the verification link returns "The client does not have access rights to the content." I have already tried Edge InPrivate and opening the copied verification link in the same session.

I attempted to access Azure Portal to contact support, but the Support + troubleshooting pane itself produces AADSTS16000 because my personal Microsoft account is being routed to the Microsoft Services tenant.

I therefore cannot complete Azure for Students verification or create a support ticket through the portal.

For Azure for Students, the supported next step is to use support outside the Azure portal.

    1. Submit the Azure for Students support form: https://aka.ms/azureforstudentssupport
    2. Include:
      • Full name
      • University email address used for verification
      • The exact error: "The client does not have access rights to the content."
      • That the verification email is delivered but the verification link fails
      • That Azure portal support cannot be used because sign-in is failing in the support flow
    3. Also check whether the university email is already linked to a Microsoft account or already has an Azure for Students subscription by trying to sign in at https://portal.azure.com with the university email directly.
    4. If the issue is with account sign-in methods, verify the sign-in aliases on the Microsoft account:
      • Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page.
      • Select Your info.
      • Select Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
      • If needed, add the university email there.

Relevant verification guidance from Microsoft also confirms:

    • Verification emails can be delayed or blocked by unusual activity protections.
    • Repeated code or verification requests can trigger temporary blocking.
    • Junk mail should be checked for messages from @accountprotection.microsoft.com.
    • If using one account to verify another, using separate privacy-mode windows can help keep both sessions signed in.

The Trace ID, Correlation ID, and timestamp are useful details to include in the Azure for Students support request.
