The 'Repair Now' button on that error popup dialog only performs a quick repair of the Office apps and that rarely resolves the problem with the Office apps, the best option is to perform a full online repair of your Office installation.

Before performing this process, please log into your Microsoft account on this link (https://account.microsoft.com/services/) and check to ensure your Office licence or Microsoft 365 subscription is listed correctly on your account.

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Apps - Installed Apps, then scroll down to find Microsoft Office

Select that and choose Modify - Online Repair

That should fix any issues with your Office Installation.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Update Office
      • Open any Office app that still works.
      • Go to File > Account.
      • Under Product Information, select Update Options > Update Now.
      • If Update Now is not shown, select Enable Updates first.
    2. Start PowerPoint in Safe Mode
      • Press Windows + R.
      • Type powerpnt /safe and press Enter.
      • If PowerPoint opens in Safe Mode, the problem is likely an add-in.
    3. Disable add-ins
      • In PowerPoint Safe Mode, go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
      • In the Manage list, select COM Add-ins and click Go.
      • Clear the add-in check boxes, then select OK.
      • Restart PowerPoint normally.
      • If it opens, re-enable add-ins one at a time to find the one causing the crash.
    4. Repair Office
      • Close all Office apps.
      • Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
      • Right-click Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365.
      • Select Change > Repair.
    5. Check if PowerPoint is blocked for a specific file
      • If the error happens only with one presentation, open File Explorer.
      • Right-click the file > Properties.
      • If an Unblock button appears, select Unblock > Apply > OK.
    6. Try Open and Repair for a damaged presentation
      • In PowerPoint, go to File > Open > Browse.
      • Select the file.
      • Click the arrow next to Open and choose Open and Repair.
    7. Check antivirus updates
      • If PowerPoint still hangs or fails to open, update antivirus software to the latest version.

If PowerPoint does not open even in Safe Mode, the issue is less likely to be an add-in and more likely to require Office repair.
