Features that support communication and collaboration between schools and families
Hi Manuel,
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on your description, I understand that you would like assistance with verifying your organization’s tenant as an eligible educational institution, so that you can use Microsoft services and benefits available for education.
For educational institutions, you can sign up for a free trial of Microsoft 365 Education. Once Microsoft verifies that your school meets the eligibility requirements for educational institutions, you can purchase Microsoft products at education pricing, including certain products that are available at no cost, such as Office 365 A1 for faculty and Office 365 A1 for students.
Before you begin
You need to have an active Microsoft 365 Education trial subscription.
If you do not have a trial subscription yet, go to Microsoft Education, enter your school email address, and select Get started.
When signing up for the free trial, you will go through the eligibility verification process and provide your school’s domain.
In most cases, you will receive an approval or rejection result immediately.
In some cases, Microsoft may require additional information to conduct a manual review and will contact you to complete a questionnaire. This review process may take up to 10 business days.
After reviewing your school’s eligibility information, Microsoft will send you an email notifying you of your school’s verification status.
Once you have a Microsoft 365 Education trial, you can check your school’s verification status at any time by following these steps:
- Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- On the Home page, locate the Billing card.
- The Billing card will display one of the following statuses:
- Approved: Your organization has been approved.
- Pending: Your verification is pending.
- Declined: Your organization has been declined.
- Add your domain: You need to add your domain.
- Declined: Your organization has been declined.
- Pending: Your verification is pending.
- Approved: Your organization has been approved.
Note: If you do not see any of the statuses above, it means that you do not have a Microsoft 365 Education trial subscription.
You can refer to the following documentation for more information:

After you register and successfully complete the academic eligibility verification process for your tenant, you will need to purchase the usmurtosa.edu.pt domain from an authorized domain registrar to use an email address in the following format: ******@usmurtosa.edu.pt.
Then, please follow the instructions in the documentation below to add the domain to your tenant:
Add a Custom Domain to Microsoft 365 - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn
Once the domain has been added successfully, your school email address will have the format shown above.
I hope this information is helpful.
