A free app and service that helps families create healthy digital habits and stay connected. It’s designed to support both online safety and real-world awareness by offering tools for screen time management, content filtering, and location sharing
Try these steps in order:
- Stop requesting new codes repeatedly. Too many attempts can trigger a temporary block and prevent Microsoft from sending codes.
- On the verification screen, select I don't have a code to request another one.
- Check the phone itself:
- Make sure the inbox is not full.
- If a messaging app is being used, make sure it is working correctly.
- If any third-party security or filtering app is installed, disable it temporarily and request the code again.
- Confirm the number is a mobile number, not a VOIP number. VOIP numbers can't be used to receive Microsoft verification codes.
- Try a different verification method if one is available on the account, such as email.
- If the issue may be network-related, switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data, or try another network, then request the code again.
- Wait and try again later. Microsoft can temporarily delay or block code delivery because of unusual activity, repeated requests, or heavy compromised traffic from a region. If 24 hours does not help, wait longer, up to 1 week.
- Verify the security info on the account:
- For a personal Microsoft account, sign in to the Security basics page and select Update info: https://account.microsoft.com/security
- If another method works, use it to confirm the phone number is still correct.
- If no code arrives and no other method works, use the sign-in helper: Sign-in helper
Important: support agents can't send verification codes or change account details for account protection.
