In Microsoft Teams, AI-generated notes can be turned off during the meeting:

Select Notes from the meeting controls.
Open the notes options.
Turn off the toggle next to AI-generated notes.

Turning off AI-generated notes stops automated notetaking, but it does not remove notes that were already created.

AI-generated notes depend on the meeting transcript. If the transcript is turned off, content capturing also stops until the transcript is turned back on.

Only meeting participants who are organizers or presenters and using Teams on web or desktop can turn AI-generated notes on or off during a meeting. Mobile participants can view the notes, but cannot control this setting.

After the meeting, previously generated notes can still be reviewed in the meeting recap:

Go to Chat in Teams.
Open the meeting chat.
Select Recap.
Select Notes.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for sharing your concerns.

If you are referring to Microsoft Teams Facilitator:

Select More actions (...) from the meeting controls, and then select Turn off Facilitator.
You must be a meeting organizer or presenter and use Teams on the desktop or web to change this setting. Turning off Facilitator will stop automated notetaking, but it will not remove notes that have already been created.

If you are using a third-party AI notetaker, you can remove it by selecting Apps > Manage your apps, locating the AI notetaker, expanding its details, and selecting Remove for each location where it has been added. You can also right-click the app from the Teams sidebar and select Uninstall > Remove.

If the option to remove or disable the app is unavailable, please contact your organization’s IT administrator, as the app may be managed through your organization’s Teams policies.
