I often chat with people, and they add me to chats. Why is it that when I'm tagged or tagged in chat, there's no notification, it's not displayed in the chat line, and there's not even a text highlighting option? When will you fix this? It's been a year since your product was updated.

The last, about 1 month, "@mention" activities should be shown in the "Activity" tab.

Thanks for sharing the details, Ivan! Try to reset the Teams Mention Index

Mentions rely on a local index. When corrupted, tags won’t highlight and won’t trigger alerts.

    Steps (New Teams & Classic):

    Fully close Teams

    • Right-click Teams in system tray → Quit

    Press Win + R, paste:

    • %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\MSTeams

    Delete only these folders:

    • IndexedDB
    • Cache
    • GPUCache
    • databases

Restart Teams and wait 2–3 minutes (do NOT click anything)

This rebuilds the mention engine, not just cache.

See if this helps. If you need further assistance just let me know.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly

It seems that you are experiencing issues with notifications and visibility when being tagged in Microsoft Teams chats. The absence of notifications and text highlighting for mentions can be frustrating. Here are a few points to consider:

    1. Tag Mentions: In Microsoft Teams, when a bot or user mentions a tag in a channel, the tag is highlighted, and the associated people receive notifications. However, if the mention is not properly formatted or if there are issues with the tagging system, notifications may not appear as expected.
    2. System Limitations: There are known limitations and bugs that can affect how mentions and notifications work. If you are using Teams operated by 21Vianet, tag mentions are not supported, which could be a factor.
    3. Updates and Fixes: Microsoft regularly updates Teams, but specific issues may take time to resolve. It's advisable to check the official Microsoft Teams support channels for any updates regarding this issue or to report it directly to Microsoft support for assistance.

If the problem persists, consider checking your notification settings within Teams to ensure they are configured correctly.
