Yesterday I selected resetting the PC and during the reset I inadvertently clicked on 'cancel' so now my Laptop is cancelling the PC reset but all I've got on my front page is a blue page telling me it's cancelling & 'this won't take long'. It's been saying that since yesterday afternoon. How do I stop the cancellation of reset and start again?? I can't click on my 'settings' whilst this blue page is across my screen. Very frustrating.

If your laptop is stuck on the blue page indicating that it is cancelling the reset, you may need to perform a hard reset. Here are the steps you can follow:

  1. Force Shutdown: Press and hold the power button on your laptop until it completely powers off. This may take about 10 seconds.
  2. Wait a Moment: After the laptop is off, wait for a few seconds before turning it back on.
  3. Restart the Laptop: Press the power button again to turn the laptop back on.

If the laptop boots up normally, you can then attempt to reset your PC again through the Settings menu:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC.

If the laptop does not boot normally or remains stuck again, you may need to access the recovery options:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it back on and repeatedly press the F8 key (or the appropriate key for your device) until you see the recovery menu.
  3. From there, you can select Troubleshoot and then Reset this PC to start the process again.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consider seeking professional assistance or contacting Microsoft Support for further help.
