Why did MS destroy copilot?

It is beyond me how you can change copilot so drastically, disable all of its best aspects and features, just so we can talk to it in a slightly more conversational manner? it's awful. Many of us had a long detailed chat history that we go back to often to pull up useful data we require & now its ALL gone.

You guys really screwed the pooch on this one. I suggest you bring the tested & true version back until you can integrate the new ver with the time tested features of copilot ver: 3.friggin.days.ago

I have to say, I did prefer the more cut-and-dried Copilot. I don't need a conversational partner to argue with or kiss up to me alternatingly, or that hallucinates and makes things up because it wants to make me happy. Most recently the updates in October 2026 messed Copilot (both the Windows app and the website) up even more. Can't search for keywords in a chat, can't search for a chat, can't copy and paste more than a little of the text, can't export the chat to Word or PDF but just share a link with the same limitations as the regular app/site. Microsoft, some of us use Copilot for very long, detailed analyses and planning over weeks and months and we need to be able to do all of the above and not worry about inaccessibility. I have ADHD and use it so, and it is very disabling to be unable to use the app/site the way I need to; it's frustrating and makes me go in loops and loses information I already covered. Fix this or you might lose even more customers, and not just for Copilot.
