Artifact signing stuck on "In Progress" for 3 weeks

Hello,

I submitted an organization identity validation request for Microsoft Artifact Signing (formerly Trusted Signing), but the status is still showing "In Progress", with no clear indication of when the verification will be completed.

I would appreciate some clarification regarding the following:

Is there currently a known delay or backlog affecting identity validation requests?

Is there any way to determine whether my request is actively being reviewed or is waiting for additional processing?

Could a Microsoft moderator or member of the Artifact Signing team check the status of my request and confirm whether any further action is required?

This verification is necessary for digitally signing our Windows desktop application and is currently delaying our release preparations.

I would be happy to provide the Identity Validation ID and any other relevant information privately to an authorized Microsoft representative.

Thank you for your assistance.

For organization identity validation, the documented processing time is 1 to 20 business days, and it can take longer if additional documentation is required. A 3-week wait can therefore still fall within the documented range depending on business days and whether the request needs extra review.

To check whether action is required:

    1. In the Azure portal, open the Artifact Signing account.
    2. Go to Overview or Objects > Identity validations.
    3. Open the validation request and check its detailed status.
      • In Progress means the validation process is still continuing.
      • Action Required means a follow-up step is needed, such as completing email verification or uploading additional documents.
    4. Verify that the primary email address received the verification email link and that it was completed. That link expires after seven days.
    5. Check Junk/Spam, confirm the mailbox accepts messages and links from external senders, and confirm that firewall, security, or mail filtering policies are not blocking the message.

    Important limits and next steps:

    • There is no documented way to resend the same email verification link for an existing request.
    • If the email verification link expired or was never received, the guidance is to delete the current identity validation request and submit a new one.
    • Creating additional identity validation requests for the same entity while one is already in progress does not help.
    • If assistance is needed with identity validation, the supported channels are Azure Support or Microsoft Q&A using the artifact-signing tag.

If the request remains in In Progress with no Action Required details visible, the supported path is to raise it through those support channels for review.
