A fully managed end-to-end service for digitally signing code, documents, and applications. (formerly Trusted Signing)
For organization identity validation, the documented processing time is 1 to 20 business days, and it can take longer if additional documentation is required. A 3-week wait can therefore still fall within the documented range depending on business days and whether the request needs extra review.
To check whether action is required:
- In the Azure portal, open the Artifact Signing account.
- Go to Overview or Objects > Identity validations.
- Open the validation request and check its detailed status.
- In Progress means the validation process is still continuing.
- Action Required means a follow-up step is needed, such as completing email verification or uploading additional documents.
- Verify that the primary email address received the verification email link and that it was completed. That link expires after seven days.
- Check Junk/Spam, confirm the mailbox accepts messages and links from external senders, and confirm that firewall, security, or mail filtering policies are not blocking the message.
Important limits and next steps:
- There is no documented way to resend the same email verification link for an existing request.
- If the email verification link expired or was never received, the guidance is to delete the current identity validation request and submit a new one.
- Creating additional identity validation requests for the same entity while one is already in progress does not help.
- If assistance is needed with identity validation, the supported channels are Azure Support or Microsoft Q&A using the artifact-signing tag.
If the request remains in In Progress with no Action Required details visible, the supported path is to raise it through those support channels for review.

- Artifact signing: identity validation takes very long - Microsoft Q&A Hello community and Microsoft Support team, I have submitted an Identity Validation request for Azure Trusted Signing which has now been stuck in the "In Progress" status for more than 7 business days. I have verified the following pre-requisites on my end to ensure no blockages: Role Permissions: I am explicitly assigned the Artifact Signing Identity Verifier role. Emails / Spam: I have thoroughly checked all inbox, spam, and corporate mail filters. No human verification or approval email from Microsoft or the validation vendor has been received yet. No Duplicates: I have not created any duplicate validation requests to avoid backend sync issues. Could a Microsoft engineer or moderator please check the backend logs to see if the request is stalled with the validation vendor, or trigger a manual sync/re-send of the verification email? Here are my non-sensitive deployment details for reference: Validation Type: Organization (Public Trust) Region: East US Validation ID: 5c78c6cd-152b-45b7-9b78-e26ffb3d6a62 Thank you for your assistance!
- Artifact Signing identity validation stuck on email verification – no resend option / third validation attempt - Microsoft Q&A Hello, I am currently trying to complete the organization identity validation for Azure Artifact Signing , but the process is stuck at the email verification stage. The identity validation has already gone through manual review. Microsoft requested additional documentation to verify both my organization and ownership of the domain. I submitted the requested government-issued business registration document and the domain registration/purchase receipt. The current status in the Azure portal is "In Progress" . However, when I open the identity validation details, Azure shows: "Complete your email verification." Unfortunately, the verification email was apparently sent while the MX records for my organization's domain were not yet configured correctly. Therefore, the mailbox could not receive the verification email at that time. The MX records have now been correctly configured for Zoho Mail and I have successfully tested that the registered email address can receive external emails. The problem There appears to be no option in the Azure portal to resend/retrigger the verification email for the existing identity validation. Additionally, the Artifact Signing overview only showed the validation status as "In Progress" . It did not indicate that any action was required from me. I only discovered the email verification requirement after manually opening the identity validation details. This is particularly problematic because this is already my third identity validation attempt . I therefore do not want to delete the currently active validation and create another one, potentially exhausting the available verification attempts. I also tried to create an Azure support request, but technical support requires a paid support plan. I do not believe purchasing a technical support plan should be necessary just to complete or recover Microsoft's Artifact Signing identity verification/onboarding process. What I need Could a Microsoft representative please advise how I can: have the email verification resent/retriggered for the existing identity validation , or have the case escalated to the Artifact Signing / Vetting Operations team so that the existing validation can be completed? If resending the verification email is technically impossible, please advise how I can proceed without deleting the current validation or consuming another identity validation attempt . I can provide the Identity Validation ID and any additional account information privately to Microsoft staff if required. Thank you.
