Other features or issues related to Microsoft Partner Center
This message is resolved by confirming an active incentive-program enrollment for the relevant Partner Location ID and assigning your account the Incentives admin role for that location and program.
1. Check the incentive enrollment
- Sign in to Partner Center with your work or school account.
- Open Incentives.
- Review the program’s Status and Action columns:
- Invited: select the enrollment action and complete it.
- Action required: follow the displayed action to update bank or tax information.
- Validating enrollment: wait for validation, which can take up to 48 hours.
- Enrolled: enrollment is active; continue with the permission check below.
- Inactive/Ineligible: select See eligibility requirements. Tax and payment profiles cannot be assigned until the organization is eligible and enrolled.
Only an Incentives administrator can enroll, and Microsoft normally sends an invitation when the organization and Location ID become eligible. If there is no invitation or eligible program under Incentives, an Account administrator cannot create eligibility merely by adding payout details.^1^
2. Check and correct your role assignment
The account entering bank and tax information must have the Incentives admin role. An Incentives user can view earnings and payment information but cannot edit bank or tax details.^2^
Check your current permissions:
- Go to Settings (gear) → Account settings → Overview.
- Select View permissions beside Partner Center permissions.
- Confirm that Incentives admin is assigned for the applicable location and incentive program.^3^
If it is missing, an Account admin or User management admin should:
- Open Settings → Account settings → User management.
- Select your user.
- Assign Incentives admin.
- Ensure the assignment covers the relevant Partner Location ID and incentive program, because this role can be scoped by location or organization.^4^
- Sign out and sign back in after the assignment.
A Microsoft Entra Global Administrator role by itself does not automatically grant all Partner Center permissions.
3. Assign the profiles after access is restored
Once the program appears and your role is correct:
- Open Settings → Account settings.
- Select Payout and tax → Payout and tax profile assignment.
- Expand the applicable incentive program.
- Select or create the Tax Profile.
- Select the permitted Payment method and choose or create the payment profile.
- Select the currency and then Submit.
If multiple Microsoft business entities are listed, assign a payment profile to each one. Availability of electronic bank transfer or credit note depends on the incentive program.^2^
If enrollment and permissions are already correct
If the program shows Enrolled, the correct Location ID is selected, and Incentives admin is assigned at the required scope, create a Partner Center support request under Incentives payment / Payment status. Both Incentives admin and Incentives user roles can create and track an incentives support request.^5^
Include:

- Affected Partner Location ID
- Enrollment status
- Screenshot of the message
