An Azure service that provides fine-grained access management for Azure resources, enabling you to grant users only the rights they need to perform their jobs.
The docs describe a fix that fits this case if the new account is a Global Administrator of the directory that holds the subscription. Azure roles and Entra roles are separate, so being Global Administrator doesn't give you access to resources until you elevate. Try this:
- Sign in to the Azure portal as the Global Administrator, in the directory that contains the subscription.
- Go to Microsoft Entra ID, then Manage, then Properties.
- Set "Access management for Azure resources" to Yes and select Save.
- Sign out and back in.
- Open the subscription, go to Access control (IAM), and assign yourself Owner.
Then set the toggle back to No. The toggle only appears for Global Administrators, so if you don't see it, tell us which account created the subscription and which account you sign in with now.
