Wrong Device location

Find My Device does not provide an address-editing control; update the Windows location settings, clear the saved cloud location, and then request a new reading.

Correct and refresh the location

1. On the Windows 11 PC, open Start → Settings → Privacy & security → Location.
2. Turn Location services On.
3. Under Default location, select Set default.
4. Enter your correct address on Sixth Street, select the correct map point, and then select Save. The default is used when Windows cannot determine a more precise location through GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular signals, or your IP address.^1^
5. Clear the old cloud location:
   • Sign in at account.microsoft.com with the same Microsoft account used on the PC.
   • Select Clear location activity, and then select Clear. Microsoft notes that location may be saved in the cloud when Location services is enabled.^1^
6. Restarting the PC is optional, but may help refresh its location session.
7. Return to Microsoft account → Devices → Find My Device, choose the PC, and select Find to request a new reading.^2^

The person using the PC will see a notification when Find My Device requests its location.

If Ottawa Street still appears

Open Bing Maps or another map application on the same PC, permit precise location access, and check its location marker:

• Map is also wrong: Windows is probably receiving an inaccurate automatic location from Wi-Fi, nearby access points, GPS, cellular data, or the public IP address. Keep the correct default location saved, but be aware that a more precise automatic reading can take precedence over it.^1^
• Map is correct but Find My Device remains wrong after requesting a new reading: this may indicate stale cloud data or a Find My Device service-side issue. Contact Microsoft Support; only Microsoft Support can investigate account-side or service-side location data.

Avoid posting either street address publicly when contacting community support.
